The HEC Paris MSc in International Finance (MIF) program caters for highly-motivated top achieving graduates looking to succeed in a career in finance and consulting. The program has a strong analytical focus yet is accessible from either business and finance (business track) or economics, math, physics, engineering (accelerated track) backgrounds.

• Business track students: have already taken at least introductory level courses in financial accounting, corporate finance, financial markets, derivatives and statistics in a Tier-1 international business school or university. They frequently have had first internships in banking or consulting and are looking for an advanced set of tools to jump-start their career.
• Accelerated track students: have received first class education in a highly quantitative field (maths, physics, engineering, econometrics...) and wish to switch their field to finance. They may or may not have taken some courses in finance and they may or may not have had a first internship in banking or consulting.

灵活的课程设置

A ‘tailor-designing’ approach towards education is at the core of how we design programs at HEC Paris. This shows in at least two respects of the HEC Paris MSc International Finance curriculum:

• What courses you take during the first semester depends on what you have done before joining HEC Paris. If you have already covered basic financial accounting, investment theory and corporate finance, you will start finance classes at advanced level (business track). If you have not done so, you will start at a more basic level but have significantly more class hours at an accelerated pace so as to enable you to cover the same material at the end (accelerated track)
• The second semester is comprised of more than 30 electives, which you can choose as you see fit: you are free to choose all corporate finance classes, all capital markets or a mix of the two. You may also decide to select an elective about corporate strategy or macroeconomics.
• From April to June students take courses within one of the HEC certificates. An HEC certificate corresponds to a group of courses with a sectorial focus on a specific area such as Energy and Finance or Social Business.

CERTIFICATE

Sponsored by a company, Certificates are a set of interdisciplinary courses corresponding to approximately 100 contact hours as well as business projects and other types of field work related to a given sector. Each student selected (in the 1st semester) for a certificate will be awarded an additional HEC certificate if he/she validates all the requirements of the course.

London Study Trip

At the beginning of September, students have the opportunity to go on a study trip to London. The trip offers students plenty of networking opportunities, conferences and team building exercises. Many networking events are organized with HEC Alumni’s UK branch - one of the largest in the world, with numerous active members working in the City.
